S.T.E.P.S. -  about the team

S.T.E.P.S. (Community Child and Family Mental Health Service)

We are a multi-disciplinary team offering SUPPORT, THERAPY, EDUCATION and PREVENTION services to professionals working with children and young people in Rotherham.

Our team comprises of a Clinical Psychologist, an Education Liaison Co-ordinator, a Primary Care Co-ordinator, a Social Worker, an Occupational Therapist, A Community Psychiatric Nurse and a School Nurse.

 

Our clients:  We operate to serve the needs of professionals and children & young people.

Age Range:  (I)     Normally up to 18 years

                                       (II)    but up to 21 if a young person is in a     residential unit or in foster care.  

What do we offer?

Support to all professionals working with children and young people in Rotherham who have or are at risk of developing mental health problems.  Support is available through supervision, advice and consultation.

 

Therapy where appropriate we provide therapeutic input to children & young people where evidence shows they have had difficulty engaging in or attending formal CAMHS services.

 

Education  we can provide training packages individually tailored to meet your service need. 

 

Prevention  by identifying high risk children and young people and provide early interventions to prevent the development of mental health problems.  We aim to achieve this by always involving professionals throughout the referral and assessment process.
